Belichick doesn't give an inch on Brady

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick held a news conference this morning and didn’t shed any light on the status of Tom Brady, who was a surprise absentee from Thursday’s practice with a calf injury.

Here is some of Belichick's back and forth with reporters:

How it’s different without Tom at practice?

"Jimmy [Garoppolo] steps in and does it. No different than any other position."

Is the calf injury chronic or a quick fix?

"We’ve listed it on the report like we are required to do."

Any doubts on him starting Sunday against the Dolphins?

"We’ll list it the way it is today."

Expect him to practice today?

"We’ll list what happens."

How did he injure the calf?

"We have done what we are required to do. We have listed the injury. We will continue to list it. We’ll list his status based on what the requirements of the league are."

The Patriots practice today about 11 a.m. We will pass along whether Brady is in attendance. The Patriots will release their injury report for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins later this afternoon.
